The Accounting Standards Council (ASC) and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) will be holding a Round-table meeting to solicit stakeholders’ feedback on the Discussion Paper on Principles of Disclosure issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

Principles of Disclosure Project

The IASB’s Principles of Disclosure project seeks to address existing issues associated with disclosure ineffectiveness in financial statements. These issues include insufficient relevant information and excessive irrelevant information, at times simultaneously.

The aim is to develop a disclosure standard that improves and brings together the principles for determining the basic structure and content of financial statements, particularly the notes. This work is also expected to support the IASB’s future review of existing disclosure requirements in other standards.
