SENIOR TECHNICAL STAFF/TECHNICAL STAFF We are looking for candidates with an aspiration of shaping developments in accounting standards setting to join the ASC Secretariat as Senior Technical Staff/Technical Staff. Responsibilities As a key position in the ASC Secretariat, you will provide technical accounting specialist support to the ASC and contribute to the overall achievement of the ASC’s statutory objectives under the Accounting Standards Act. Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1. Providing technical analysis in accounting standards setting Provide technical accounting support to the ASC and assist the ASC to discharge its duties under the Accounting Standards Act. Manage technical accounting projects. This includes obtaining stakeholder feedback, performing research and analysis, and developing comments on consultation documents relating to IFRS Standards issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and recommendations on the adoption of IFRS Standards by the ASC. Monitor emerging issues in accounting standards, support the ASC in formulating a Singapore position, and engage, or contribute to the engagement of, the IASB staff on the Singapore position. Organise, provide technical accounting input to, and participate in, focus group discussions and stakeholder outreaches of the ASC. Develop public communications and manage coordination with external parties where appropriate. 2. Supporting ASC engagement processes with international and regional bodies Provide strategic and technical accounting support to the ASC representatives on, for example, the committees of regional accounting standards setting bodies. Provide strategic and technical accounting support to the ASC delegation in the meetings with the IASB, regional and national accounting standards setting bodies, and other accountancy bodies. Requirements A good degree or relevant professional qualifications in Accountancy. At least 12 years of working experience, inclusive of senior managerial or directorial role (for the Senior Technical Staff position)/approximately 8–12 years of working experience, inclusive of managerial role (for the Technical Staff position), in the application, interpretation and analysis of accounting standards. Able to provide insightful analysis on technical accounting matters. Able to manage and guide technical professionals within the organisation (for the Senior Technical Staff position). Able to support and/or participate in the ASC engagement with various stakeholder groups in the financial reporting and accounting standards setting community.
