The Accounting Standards Council of Singapore
(ASC) is pleased to host the annual International Accounting
Standards Board (IASB) Regional Standard-Setters Meeting 2008
from 16 to 17 July at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Singapore.
The IASB Regional Standard-Setters Meeting brings together
the accounting standard-setting authorities from the ASEAN
as well as Asia-Pacific countries to discuss and share their
countries' perspectives on major issues arising from the implementation
of the International Financial Reporting Standards.
As part of the event, the ASC is hosting the public seminar
"IFRS: A Global and Regional Perspective" on 17
July. At this seminar, Sir David Tweedie, Chairman of IASB,
and Mr Warren McGregor, Board Member of IASB, will be sharing
the latest updates on the IASB's work programme and major
technical projects. A diverse panel of respected speakers
and professionals will also be speaking on two highly topical
subjects in today's context – risk reporting and the
lessons learnt from the recent sub-prime crisis, and issues
arising from the revised IFRS 3 on Business Combinations.
Their unique perspectives from the accounting profession,
business sector, academia and regulatory bodies, would ensure
a thought-provoking discussion and informative session for
all attendees.
Who should attend?
